The proprietary formulation of LipoGel® was designed
specifcally to combat medical bioflms.
Government testing demonstrated the efcacy of LipoGel®
to inhibit bioflm formation from multiple wound microbial
species (USDA 2008).
A potent defensive strategy, LipoGel® is not a biocide or
antibiotic, non-toxic to host cells, and appropriate for
routine use for all chronic wounds.
LipoGel® forms a lipid “membrane” of protection over the
wound bed that remains permeable. Unlike typical wound
gels it will not dilute, migrate, or disperse with exudate.
Journal of Wound Care 2009; 18: 12, 508.

LipoGel® is not diluted by exudate, and will not evacuate from the wound bed
under the suction of negative pressure wound therapy.
The lipid “membrane” inhibits unwanted ingrowth of tissue into foam
dressings, reducing pain upon dressing changes and improving compliance.

LipoGel is available in 1oz. (29.6ml) dispensers
®
alone or contained in GENTEX npwt wound sets.
